Code of Conduct and Travel Guidelines

As a condition of agreeing to the Code of Conduct, the registrant and/or the parent/guardian (if the registrant is under 18 yrs. old) agrees that the Jr Huskies Wrestling Club will not be held responsible for any accidents or losses, however caused, and agrees to release the same from all claims or damages which may arise as a result of such accident or loss. I/We hereby acknowledge that certain risks of injury are inherent in participation in any physical activity program/course and assumption of those risks and results that may be associated with my participation or that of my child are understood.

  • Athletes chosen to travel must act as representatives of the Saskatoon Jr. Huskies and/or the Saskatoon Wrestling Club and will need to conduct themselves in a responsible manner.
  • Team travel is for the express purpose of competition, and nothing should interfere with the athlete’s performance on the mat
  • The drinking of alcohol and use of illicet drugs by minors is illegal and so will not be permitted on any trips. No tobacco usage (cigarettes or chewing tobacco), no vaping
  • The athletes are responsible for being on time for all departures, meetings, etc. and to notify the coaches in advance, in the event of a change in plans.
  • Athletes must abide by any curfews given by the coaching or managerial staff. This includes staying in the room and lights out.
  • At no time shall the athlete be involved in a non-sport related altercation (physical or verbal). Any sport related altercation will be dealt with by the appropriate body (ex. Referee, tournament organizer)
  • If travel is in a vehicle, the number allowed to travel in the vehicle will be based on the number of seatbelts available or less
  • Hotel/Dorm rooms will be filled to the capacity of the room or less (ex. 2 double beds = 4 athletes).  If an athlete or family would prefer to have their own room, this would be done at their expense (if available).
  • If an athlete/family have an issue with the conduct of a coach or another athlete, the following steps should be used:
    1. Make the coach/athlete aware that they feel that the behaviour is inappropriate and would like it to stop
    2. If the situation is not rectified and/or the athlete/family is not comfortable addressing the behaviour directly with the coach/athlete then the athlete/family would need to make the Head Coach or one of the other coaches aware of the issue so it can be dealt with in a timely manner
    3. If after #1 or #2 is enacted and the issue is still not rectified, the option of making a formal complaint to Sask. Wrestling would be at the discretion of the athlete/family.

NOTE: Jr Huskies travel is a privilege, not a right, if an athlete breaks the Code of Conduct

  1. They will have to fulfill logical consequences given by the coaching staff.
  2. If the infraction is serious, the athlete may be sent home at their own cost.
  3. They may be suspended or banned from future club programming.
  4. Police may be involved if the infraction warrants it.

By agreeing to the Code of Conduct/Travel Guidelines, I hereby acknowledge that I, and my caregivers if I am under 18 years old, have read and understand the above statements as it pertains to myself or my dependents participation.
